Although there’s no word yet on SZA’s follow-up project to her 2017 debut album Ctrl, it appears fans may be receiving some new music from the TDE songstress soon. On Monday (May 25), SZA floated the idea of dropping a collection of unreleased singles in a “music dump” past her three million Twitter followers.

“So like a music dump .. similar to a photo dump but not an album .. this concept make sense to anyone? Has anyone ever done it ? Asking for me,” she wrote.

SZA also revealed that the potential release would include at least 20 songs, all recorded over the past six years, which could date back to include recording sessions from her debut EP, Z.

“Nah an Ep is like 4-5 songs .. a music dump would be like 20 from over the Course of the last 6 years,” she tweeted.

Fans were quickly onboard with the concept, as SZA asked them to drop their favorite unreleased snippets that they’d like to see on the project.

“Okay dead ass THIS IS NOW A COLLECTIVE EFFORT EVERYONE IF U HAVE A SNIPPET IN MIND PLACE IT IN THIS THREAD I DONT REMEMBER ALL OF THEM SO GATHER WHAT U WANT AND ILL SEARCH THE HARDDRIVE TODAY,” she tweeted.

She also revealed what happened to her Ctrl (Deluxe) album, which she tweeted “was like a missed text message.”

“I felt like too much time passed and it didn’t matter anymore started something new .. i was wrong lol,” she wrote.

Although, she later clarified, “I never said the Deluxe was dead y’all asked what HAPPENED to it lmao I jus said I kept it pushing n never put it out by mistake.”

According to her tweets, she also plans to sell her upcoming “music dump” for charity, as “too many ppl [are] hurting to make a dollar rn.”

The potential collection would serve as a follow-up to Ctrl, which was actually formed in a similar way. Speaking with The Fader back in 2018, SZA revealed that her debut effort had been built as a compilation of music, rather than with a thematic approach.

“I just made a gang of songs over the course of four years,” she explained. “Heard ‘em all together and I was like, ‘Huh, alright.”
