Currently, Jhené Aiko is prepping the release of Chilombo (Deluxe), which will add some sure-to-be-fire tracks to the original album that dropped earlier this year. Presumably to hold fans over, she drops off another visual from Chilombo for “One Way St.,” which features assistance from Ab-Soul and sees the two frequent collaborators in reflection, wondering which way is up:

“Stuck in traffic on the road less traveled, no fast track, that’s how life’ll do you, I had to learn to backtrack/

Before I could move forward, like quadruple, I been goin’ insane, ask Jhené I may be way too high, the sky is in my way/

My judgement’s cloudy because of it, still staying grounded like a child on punishment/

Runnin’ and tumblin’, stumblin’, hidin’ from idle time, it isn’t in my design to deny the signs…/”

The visual for “One Way St.” keeps things single, with Jhené and Soul walking around different locations of Los Angeles at night. The surreal clip follows previously released videos for “B.S.,” “Magic Hour,” and “Lotus (Intro).”

Chilombo was liberated this past March and sees 20 tracks from the Cali star, with additional appearances from Ty Dolla $ign, John Legend, Future, Miguel, Nas, and more. The third solo LP earned Jhené the biggest debut for a female R&B artist since Beyoncé’s 2016 album Lemonade, thanks to 170 million global streams. The project also collected 152,000 album equivalent units, solidifying a Gold certification a couple of months since its release.

In a recent interview with Essence, Aiko described Chilombo as a form of healing:

“I make music for healing purposes, for myself. It’s like journaling or when people paint… Sharing it is also therapeutic because when people express to you that they are relating to it, you’re like, ‘Oh, I’m not alone in what I’m going through.’”

Press play on “One Way St.” below. Hopefully, fans will get more information on Chilombo (Deluxe) soon.
