According to N.O.R.E., Eminem is prepared to take on DMX in the next virtual Verzuz battle. The “Drink Champs” co-host revealed the potential pairing in an Instagram post on Monday (May 18). However, DMX is still angling for one specific opponent.

“This moment is so Legend!!!” N.O.R.E. wrote. “3 minutes before this [Swizz Beatz] CALLS X and says Eminem is down for that smoke and X SAY HE CAN GET BUT I STILL WANT JAY HAHA SO CLASSIC BEHIND THE SCENES SHIT SORRY IF I WASNT POST TO SAY NOTHING but I had to DMX VS SLIM SHADY??? What y’all think??? I’m riding wit the DOG!!!”

The announcement arrives after N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN hosted a special “Quarantine Drink Champs” edition with Fat Joe, Styles P, Jadakiss and Lenny S. During the episode, N.O.R.E. and EFN asked Joe who he thought Eminem should be paired against in a hypothetical Verzuz showdown.

DMX got the biggest hits in the world, one of the greatest rappers of all time. Legendary. Iconic. Superhero,” Joe said. “And everything I’m saying is understated. He’s bigger than that.”

“But there’s something about that white boy and his fans,” he continued, referring to Em. “Nah, bro. You wanna see some crack in the Internet? He’s gonna crash, ni**a. That ni**a is carefree, bro.”

Swizz and Timbaland have yet to officially announce a Verzuz between Eminem and DMX and it’s unclear if the former Ruff Ryders MC has accepted the challenge. DMX previously spoke with N.O.R.E. and EFN on a virtual “Drink Champs” episode, where he said that if he were to virtually battle anybody, he’d want it to be JAY-Z.

“Who [else] you think, ni**a?” he’d asked N.O.R.E. “There you go. That would be battle number three.”

Most recently, Ludacris and Nelly went head-to-head in the popular Swizz and Timbaland-fronted series. Check out a recap of their Verzuz battle here.
