Nick Cannon is the latest celebrity to join the business of vegan cuisine.

According to Black Enterprise, the TV host recently partnered with Chef Velvet to open a plant-based restaurant in Los Angeles called The VTree Hollywood. The eatery is located inside the Yamashiro Japanese Restaurant in Hollywood Hills.

The VTree Hollywood officially opened on April 30, but due to COVID-19, it is only available for takeout and curbside orders. Their menu includes an array of vegan options such as crab cakes made from chickpeas, mac and cheese, yams, cornbread, veggie lasagna, vegan shrimp, black eyed peas, African peanut stew and more.

After Cannon was diagnosed with Lupus in 2012, he began to change his outlook on food.

“I knew I wanted to keep a healthy lifestyle, but I didn’t want to be that confined,” he said in an interview with GQ. “I wanted to enjoy food. So, now it’s just eating clean. I don’t eat pork or processed foods. I’m able to have fun, and my trainer makes sure that when I want something, I can eat it, as long as it’s balanced and it’s all clean.”

The “Wild N Out” creator recently dropped the trailer for his highly anticipated documentary, Strong Enemies: The Untold Case of Dr. Sebi. The documentary was originally started by Nipsey Hussle. The radio host took over production for the film after Hussle tragically passed away in March 2019.

Dr. Sebi believed that eating certain foods under a plant-based diet could detoxify the body and reduce the risk of diseases. In the trailer, Cannon visited Sebi’s village in Honduras. The trailer showed clips of past Sebi interviews where he spoke about curing multiple patients from AIDS. There were also appearances from Erykah Badu, Common, and Karen Civil.

Congrats to Nick Cannon on the opening of his new restaurant!
