Instagram Live has become the place to hear unreleased music, even more so during the current pandemic. On Monday (May 11), producer DJ Clue shared a snippet from an unreleased collaboration between Nicki Minaj and A$AP Ferg. The New York-bred pair last teamed up on “Runnin” alongside A$AP Rocky for the Creed II soundtrack and on the remix for Ferg’s 2017 hit, “Plain Jane.”

In the snippet, Minaj and Ferg can be heard swapping lines about their previous collab, New York hometowns and more.

“Straight from outta Queens, headed to Harlem now / Already bodied ‘Plain Jane’ and we mobbin’ now,” Minaj spits.

“That’s why all these fake ni**as tryna rob our style,” Ferg answers back.

It’s unclear whether or not the song will be officially released, while Minaj has hinted to working on new material for her next project.

Back in February, the Queen rapper revealed “[fans] can expect to feel like, okay, Nicki’s in a good place,” with her upcoming album during a Pollstar Q&A.

Last year, after explaining her sudden retirement from music, Minaj revealed a few collaborations she’d like to have on her next project.

“I just recently collaborated with the DaBaby, so you know he got to return that favor, and Gunna, I love Gunna,” she told The Shade Room in October. “So, if there is an album, there’s going to be way more than that, if there is an album, but those are two new people that I haven’t had on an album yet who I would love to work with them. Now that I’ve gotten to know them, they are sweet and respectful and also just dope at their craft. It was also dope working with Megan [Thee Stallion] as well, that’s just in terms of rap.”
