Although Lil Tjay isn’t on good terms with a number of New York artists at the moment, his new mixtape State Of Emergency serves as a great look for his city. The Bronx rapper actually described the project as a collaborative effort with the new wave of New York rappers.

The mixtape not only includes a tribute to and a feature from the late Pop Smoke, it has appearances from the likes of Jay Critch, Fivio Foreign, Sheff G, Sleepy Hallow, J.I. The Prince Of N.Y., and Jay Gwuapo. Earlier this week, Tjay and Fivio did something that Fivio claimed has not been done since the Ruff Ryders — they stopped an NYC highway to shoot a music video for the stand-out record “Zoo York” featuring Pop Smoke.

Also, Tjay issued an apology for dissing fellow New York rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and 6ix9ine. Apparently, the Bronx rising star got ahead of himself and wanted to take back all of the negative energy he put into the world by adding, “F**k this beef s**t, I don’t encourage it.”

Last year, he went into detail with Complex on how he felt the street life was forced on him:

“I felt like there were no options. I mean, there are definitely options. It’s just that with me, I always wanted more. I don’t feel comfortable without certain things,” he told the publication. “I always want some money in my pocket to do whatever I want. Even if it’s something like I want to eat food that costs more than what I got. If I want it, I’m going to get it.”

It’s great to see the young artist has his head on straight these days and continues his quest to take over the world. Peep his latest drop below and sound off.
