Teyana Taylor has revealed the cover art and release month for her new LP. In an Instagram post, the “Gonna Love Me” singer wrote, “THE ALBUM • June 2020.”

On April 23, Taylor took over Red Bull’s Instagram Live for a virtual screening of her new documentary, Assembly Required: Teyana Taylor’s House of Petunia. During her Instagram takeover, the songstress hosted a Q&A session where she shared details about her forthcoming album.

“We’ve been working on the album,” she said. “The album is done—that’s why I look crazy right now. Before I got on with y’all, we literally just did the listening of the album. Y’all gonna be so happy.”

“This album is definitely more of a vibe. I don’t really do fast songs like that,” she continued. “There are some head-boppers. It’s not super-fast. You can dance and you can cry and you can ride.”

Last year, the First Lady of G.O.O.D. Music announced that her forthcoming project would be named The Album. During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she said The Album would be different from her last project K.T.S.E., which she believed was too short.

“It’s not about not liking it,” she said. “It’s about the fact that it was not long enough, verses were taken out, a lot of stuff I didn’t know happened with my album until I actually heard the album like everybody else.”

The “Do Not Disturb” singer told the outlet that she’s “ready to get shit done on my own” for The Album and focus on “fixing what didn’t work the first time, getting a better rollout, more records, longer records… just giving everybody more.”

K.T.S.E. peaked at No. 17 on the Billboard 200. The 2018 LP featured appearances by Kanye West and Mykki Blanco.
