Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage” and Doja Cat’s “Say So” currently sit at the No. 4 and No. 6 spots on the Billboard Hot 100, marking the first time in chart history that two solo songs by female rappers have both ranked within the Top 10 simultaneously. Several previous hip hop collaborations between female rappers have coexisted in the Top 10 over the years, but this is the first time that two solo singles by female rappers have climbed the chart at the same time.

Both songs were boosted by their star-studded remixes, with Beyoncé hopping on Hot Girl Meg’s “Savage” and Nicki Minaj joining Doja on “Say So.” The remixes are expected to debut on the Hot 100 next week, but for now, the solo versions are enjoying immense success.

“Savage” also marked Megan’s first-ever entry into the Hot 100’s Top 10. The track initially appeared on her Suga EP from earlier this year.

“I really want to cry right now like oh my god!!!!” Megan celebrated the feat on Instagram. “This is my first top 10 bi*ch my first top 5!!!! Likeeeeee hottiessss we really doing this sh*t! We aint never give up we doing everything they said we wouldn’t!!!! I said, ‘J. White give me a beat I can go off on,’ and he did. Thank you @beyonce! I’m just happy to be here man. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!”

Upon the remix’s release, Megan also explained what it was like to collaborate with Bey.

“It’s really crazy ‘cause like, my mama was like a really huge fan of like Beyoncé and she used to make me watch a lot of Beyoncé stuff,” she said. “And it’s like, when I met her I was like, ‘Oh my God.’ And I ain’t wanna be like, ‘Oh my God Beyoncé me and my mama love you.’”

“This sh*t is crazy — And it’s just like, for Beyoncé to even do a song with me — I really only been out for like two years,” she continued. “This is the beginning of year number two. Like, Beyoncé? It’s really crazy.”

Likewise, “Say So” earned Doja her first Top 10 entry back in March. The track first appeared on her 2019 LP Hot Pink and received a boost in the charts after the Minaj-assisted remix arrived on Friday (May 1).
