YoungBoy Never Broke Again has earned his second. No. 1 debut with 38 Baby 2, which topped the Billboard 200 this week. The 17-track project, which sees features from DaBaby and NBA’s mother, Sherhonda Gaulden — accumulated 67,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. The album’s successful debut follows in line with 2019’s AI YoungBoy 2, which topped the chart less than seven months ago with 110,000 units.

With this new achievement, YoungBoy pushes down his collaborator DaBaby’s Blame It On Baby to No. 2 on the chart. Lil Uzi Vert’s Eternal Atake continues to hang on at No. 3, followed by The Weeknd’s After Hours sitting at No. 4, Lil Baby’s My Turn at No. 5 and Post Malone’s 2019 album Hollywood’s Bleeding remaining at No. 6.

Before deleting both his Twitter and Instagram accounts, YoungBoy had declared that 38 Baby 2 would be his final project before taking a hiatus from music.

“After Friday I’ll never release a song/album again until I’m in a better situation #PROMISE,” the Baton Rouge native tweeted just days before the album’s release.

Prior to 38 Baby 2, this year has also seen the release of YoungBoy’s Still Flexin, Still Steppin mixtape, which included an appearance from Quando Rondo. The 20-year-old has also stayed busy with several one-off singles, such as “Step On Sh*t,” “Drop ‘Em” and “Uncharted Love.”

Last month, YoungBoy again teamed up with DaBaby on his Blame It On Baby highlight cut, “Jump.” The Charlotte bred rapper previously discussed his admiration for YoungBoy during an interview with “The Rap Pack.”

“I like NBA YoungBoy a lot,” he told the podcast’s co-hosts. “I know he don’t get the credit he deserves for his music because of the stigma that’s around him. I just listened to his last project and he’s like crazy talented. After my music, I probably like his music the most just because of his story and how he puts it out there, how shameless he is with putting it out there and the type of music that he continues to make. And not only that—how versatile he can be with it.”
