If you’re not familiar with Rhyon Brown’s music, you will be soon. Known for her acting prowess, the Los Angeles talent has already made waves on the small screen, making show-stealing appearances on shows like “ER,” “Judging Amy,” “That’s So Raven,” “Lincoln Heights,” and “Empire.”

Back in February, she delivered the laid-back single “Leaves.” But today, she follows that with the new groove “WEAKEND,” which seems to add a new twist to an older SZA track that sees her sharing a man with another woman:

“You know she’s on the come up, boy that’s a lot to stomach, threw up my love for, nothing/

Tried to convince me that I, should swallow my pride, boy f*** your ride or die/

She gets you on the weekends, I get you in the week and, boy did I get the weak end/

….does she even know who I am?/”

In this regard, the man in question is played by rising Inglewood star D Smoke, who adds to the Brandon “Big B” Tiffith and Angel Rosa-produced cut with his own perspective on the situation. The accompanying visual — directed by Quarantino — shows a fed up Rhyon FaceTiming D Smoke about her frustrations with the relationship, eventually calling up her friends for additional advice when he responds in a way she doesn’t appreciate.

Speaking to Hedonist, Rhyon spoke on how she fell in love with both music and acting:

“I went to see a musical at the LA Theatre Center and it was a cast of kids between the ages of eight to 18. It was the most amazing thing I had ever seen. They were doing The Wiz, and the acting and singing and dancing and costuming were so captivating. Right then, I knew that entertainment was what I wanted to do. So, I’d say I fell in love with [singing and acting] at the same time, but as for my growth in each, the paths were very different.”
