Tekashi 6ix9ine teases a new release dropping next week
“You ready?” he wrote on Instagram.
Tekashi 6ix9ine seems to be plotting his return. On Wednesday (April 29), the rapper hopped on his Instagram Story to hint that something new will be arriving next Friday (May 8), which will also be his 24th birthday.
“You ready?” he wrote in the Story, along with a tongue-sticking-out emoji. “May 8th.”
The news arrives shortly after Judge Paul A. Engelmayer approved 6ix9ine’s request to film music videos in his backyard. The “FEFE” rapper is currently being held in home confinement, after he was released from prison earlier this month due to Coronavirus concerns. His prison sentence is expected to end this August.
“I am writing today only to request the Court’s approval to permit Mr. Hernandez to spend up to two hours in his backyard, once a week, for employment purposes only,” 6ix9ine’s attorney Lance Lazzaro had asked the judge in a letter. “He is looking to record music videos in his backyard. Probation is aware and has no objection to this request.”
Engelmayer formally approved the request on Wednesday (April 29), while laying down some ground rules for 6ix9ine’s outdoor privileges.
“The defendant is permitted to conduct employment-related activities outside the residence but within the confines of the rented property for two hours per week on one specific day that needs advanced approval by the Probation Officer,” the judge wrote in his decision. “Given structural interference with the GPS tracking device, the defendant’s hours in the basement of the residence will be limited to no more than an eight-hour period per day with a schedule as determined by the Releasee and approved by the Probation Officer.”
While at home, 6ix9ine has been working on two forthcoming albums, one of which will be recorded in Spanish. Last October, the Dummy Boy rapper signed a recording deal with 10K Projects and received a $10 million advance payment. The contract requires him to release two full-length albums.
