Contrary to previous reports, 2 Chainz will not reopen his Atlanta restaurants on Monday (April 27).

Earlier today (April 24), the “Rule The World” rapper’s business partner Snoop Dillard told TMZ that the two Escobar restaurant locations would reopen with safety precautions such as temperature checks and mandatory gloves and masks. He has now had a change of heart.

”After careful consideration, we are not going to open our restaurants on Monday,” Dillard said. “It has not officially been decided when we will start having dine-in service.”

Governor Brian Kemp decided to reopen some businesses in Georgia this week. Many people in hip hop urged black people to stay home due to COVID-19 disproportionately affecting the black community.

Earlier this week, Killer Mike revealed that his two barbershop locations would remain closed to protect his staff and customers from getting sick.

“At this time, as a business, we aren’t comfortable opening,” Killer Mike said. “So, we’re gonna wait a while before we reopen because in our community people who look like her husband, there are more of us who are dying unfortunately. And it’s because of pre-existing conditions, which makes your immune system weaker, which includes things like diabetes, hypertension, things of that nature. So, we don’t want our customers or our barbers in danger and we wanna wait it out.”

Jermaine Dupri urged black people in Atlanta to stay home and not fall for the “okie doke.”

“People think black people in Atlanta can’t wait to get outside so them niggas can run around and show theirs cars off,” the “Money Ain’t a Thang” rapper said. “If that is our image, let that be our image when it ain’t no Corona but not during this time period. When people think about Georgia, they think about Atlanta. When people think about Atlanta, they think about black people. This virus has its highest kill rate with black people. On top of that, Georgia ranks last in testing.”
