Like many Georgia businesses, 2 Chainz will reportedly re-open his two Atlanta restaurants on Monday for dine-in services (April 27). However, co-owner Mychel “Snoop” Dillard tells TMZ that the the two eateries — Escobar Restaurant and Tapas Lounge — will employ extra safety precautions in order to prioritize customer and staff health.

According to the outlet, additional safety measures will include checking employees’ temperatures at clock-in, administering mandatory gloves, giving masks to the cooks and providing disposable one-use paper menus for customers. Furthermore, any employee who shows Coronavirus symptoms will be asked to go home and self-quarantine for two weeks. The restaurants also offer hookahs, which will reportedly be sanitized more frequently.

During the shelter-in-place order, 2 Chainz’s restaurants had offered carry-out service only. TMZ reports that both establishments have lost 95 percent in sales during the pandemic, resulting in around 80 precent of their staff being furloughed. Dillard tells the outlet that he hopes to bring back 65 percent of the restaurants’ workforce with the new precautions on Monday (April 27) and to eventually have the entire staff back to work.

The restaurants also employ DJs, who will return to both locations. While the shops had only served takeout, 2 Chainz and Dillard had reportedly paid the DJs to play music anyways, to lessen their financial burden and brighten the spirits of carry-out customers.

2 Chainz and Dillard previously used their establishments to provide free lunches for hundreds of healthcare workers at Atlanta’s Southern Regional Medical Center.

“Born and raised in Atlanta, this city has always been my home,” the Rap Or Go To The League rapper previously told The Atlanta-Journal Constitution. “Seeing our healthcare workers putting their lives at risk everyday to keep our city, state and country safe is remarkable.”

“When things affect our community, it’s only right that we contribute in any way possible — we are looking to do that with food for the healthcare workers of Southern Regional Medical Center,” Dillard had added.

According to TMZ, when the restaurants re-open on Monday (April 27), 2 Chainz and Dillard will continue to donate free meals to employees at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.
