Tory Lanez is still riding high off the release of his latest album The New Toronto 3, which is projected to sell some 55,000 to 65,000 equivalent album units. He’s already delivered a slew of visuals from the project for “W,” “Broke In A Minute,” and “Do The Most” — now, he drops off another clip for “Who Needs Love.” The Ambience, Play Picasso, and Cherry Beats-produced cut sees Tory Lanez back in his harmonic bag, with lyrics about success and wealth, relationships, and more:

“I got 20/20 vision when I see her, pulled up in the Lamb’, should’ve pulled up in the BM/

Rippers in my denim ‘cause a young nigga was flexin’, and if we end it early, baby girl, then it was destined/

I even had to stop, answerin’ your calls, a nigga had you trappin’ with the scammers and the dawgs/

Drivin’ over border with the hammers in the car, when the cops pulled me over, would’ve hand it to my dawgs/”

The accompanying visual — directed by Midjordan and the artist himself — tells a twisted love tale about a cop who is in a relationship with a drug dealer (played by Tory Lanez), and finds herself in an affair with her partner. Tory’s character finds out and things turn tragic by the video’s end.

Thanks to the current Coronavirus pandemic, Tory Lanez has found himself on everyone’s radar thanks to his blazingly popular “Quarantine Radio,” which has seen guest appearances from virtually everybody in hip hop and R&B. Recently, he spoke to Beats 1’s Ebro Darden about putting music out as a newly-minted independent artist:

“I didn’t want to give the team those records that I felt like were Earth changing records… That’s why I haven’t really released none of my real golden songs.”
