Check out Kodie Shane’s ‘Quarantine’ EP with Saucy Longwe
The four-track offering sees production from Dario Wav.
Kodie Shane continues to churn out light-hearted tunes for the culture. For her latest, the Atlanta artist teams up with Saucy Longwe and producer Dario Wav for the four-track EP Quarantine, presumably titled so because — like the rest of us — the collaborators are passing the time during this pandemic by creating dope music for everyone to vibe to.
The title track sees Kodie and Saucy harmonizing about dealing with multiple women:
“Sliding in a foreign, my main b***h, she look just like my side/
She hate it when I say the wrong names all the time/
Gotta watch what I say, other b***hes on my mind/
Other b***hes on my line, gotta pay for my time…/”
Back in February, Kodie Shane dropped off another EP titled Blooming Vol. 1, which boasted six tracks and a single appearance from Trippie Redd. Prior to that, she released the projects Young HeartThrob and Stay Tuned in 2018 and 2019, respectively, and was also a prominent member of Lil Yachty’s Sailing Team collective.
Kodie Shane comes from a musical family — not only was her father, Danny Williams, Jr., a member of R&B group Rick, Ran, and Dan, her older sister Brandi Williams was a member of the girl group Blaque. In a recent interview with SSENSE, she spoke on her relationship with her mother, who also acts as her manager:
“I’m thankful because me and my mom are in a really good space and a lot of people don’t have that. They don’t know when their mom is being a mom and when their mom is being a manager… I’d gotten suspended for 10 days, so my mom would make me go [to the studio] everyday for punishment.”
