Kobe Bryant’s latest book will debut at the top of The New York Times’ middle-grade hardcover best-seller list just days after he was posthumously inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame’s Class of 2020.

Kobe’s young adult novel “The Wizenard Series: Season One” arrived through his Granity Studios on March 31, following his several other inspirational children’s books, including “Legacy and the Queen,” “Epoca: The Tree of Ecrof” and New York Times best-seller “The Wizenard Series: Training Camp.”

“5 championships. 5 NYT bestsellers. The Mamba strikes again,” Kobe’s wife Vanessa celebrated on Instagram. “My husband [Kobe Bryant] would have been so proud to see his work continuing on with ‘The #Wizenard Series: Season One.’ Thank you for supporting his legacy!!!!”

The New York Times’ best-seller list is set to be published on April 19. “The Wizenard Series: Season One” also hit No. 1 on Amazon’s children’s basketball books best-seller list earlier this week.

“Season One” was created by Kobe and penned by Wesley King. The novel reportedly follows the story of a young basketball player who overcomes various obstacles. Granity Studios describes the book as “a story of strain and sacrifice, supernatural breakthroughs, and supreme dedication to the game.”

According to TMZ, “Season One” also includes a quotation from Kobe that dedicates his series “to young athletes who commit to doing the hard work,” adding “the process always pays off.”

King previously noted the book’s bittersweet release, remembering that “we can all take solace in knowing [Kobe’s] vision lives on.”

“This is going to help a lot of readers reframe their self-worth, chase their passions, and dream big,” King wrote on Instagram. “Your goal was to help kids realize their value. To challenge them to look in the mirror every morning and see a giant. This story is the embodiment of that message, and of the wider #mambamentality: work harder, want it more, challenge your fears.”

Kobe’s literary career took off in 2018 with his picture-book “The Mamba Mentality: How I Play,” which reflected on his legendary 20-season career. Kobe and his daughter Gianna were tragically killed in a helicopter crash earlier this year. After his passing, Granity Studios said it could continue to commit to “using creative education to inspire people to be the best versions of themselves.”
