On Thursday night (April 2), Playboy Carti was arrested in Georgia for drug and gun-related charges.

According to Daily Mail, the 23-year-old spitter was pulled over by deputies for driving his Lamborghini with an expired tag. Following their search, police discovered firearms and several bags of drugs including marijuana, xanax, oxycodone and codeine. Carti and another young man, Jaylan Tucker, were taken into custody at Clayton County Jail. The following day, Carti was released on bond. At the moment, Tucker remains in custody on multiple drug and gun related-charges.

Although Carti has yet to comment on the situation publicly, his friend, Gunner Stahl, shared his thoughts in a since-deleted tweet. “Carti is at home, let’s stop the ‘free’ stuff thanks,” he wrote at the time.

This isn’t the first time that Carti has hit a bump in the road. Back in November 2019, Carti and his girlfriend, Iggy Azalea, were robbed of $350,000 worth of jewelry in Buckhead, Georgia. The stolen pieces included diamond rings, platinum watches, bracelets and more. According to Atlanta Journal Constitution, the “Fancy” spitter was inside of their rental property when the burglary took place. She also confessed to leaving the back door unlocked for the 2017 XXL freshman.

In 2017, Carti rose to fame after his hit “Magnolia” became a viral sensation. During a conversation with Dazed Digital, the Atlanta native gushed about working with producer, Pi’erre Bourne, who assisted with the song.

“I’m with him every day,” he said of Bourne. “So, when we’re in the studio together, Pi’erre makes a hundred beats a day. They all fire. He’s doing that constantly. So, when I go to studio with him, I’m trying to get at least five, six tracks done. He might hop on two of them. It’s the same way with me and Uzi. With me and Pi’erre it’s even crazier because it’s like, it’s just like madness. I be in the booth recording and he just be standing there. And vice versa.”
