While the world is currently in the middle of a pandemic, Meek Mill is disappointed that people in his hometown of Philadelphia are still killing each other.

Meek shared a news article from NBC 10 Philadelphia that said that a two-year-old boy and two teen girls were shot a birthday party and were in critical condition. The Championships rapper then let off a series of tweets condemning violence in his city, especially while people are dying from Coronavirus.

“The amount of animosity built up in my hood got the young bulls killing each other 200 mph while a virus chasing their parents down to kill them too!” he tweeted, “Somebody gotta identify what happened to our mindframe in certain cities! The hate level too high for blacks.”

Meek went to say that he believes the “hood mindframe” is brainwashing black men to fail.

“One day we gotta have the convo about the hood mindframe n#%gas being brainwashed to fail …simple as- if you went to jail 5 times for selling dope try weed or a job ‘switch it up’ if you got shot on that corner twice ‘it’s ya life’ try a new area … at least try to win!” he tweeted.

The “Going Bad” rapper made sure to let everyone know that he was speaking on his hometown. He also tweeted that he believes that he believes that everyone is smarter than that.

“I’m speaking on my city.. I just know we smarter than that!” he wrote.

After being released from prison, Meek has spoken out against racial injustices in black America. He has co-founded an organization called REFORM Alliance, which is currently urging prisoners to be protected from contracting Coronavirus while serving their time. The organization also plans to “dramatically reduce the number of people who are unjustly under the control of the criminal justice system – starting with probation and parole.”
