For those that might’ve forgotten about Fabolous latest release Summertime Shootout 3, here’s a reminder. Over the weekend, the Brooklyn hip hop veteran delivered a new visual from the project for “Cold Summer,” which is produced by AraabMUZIK and Motif Alumni. The intro cut shows Fabolous giving his thoughts on the media and its negativity:

“The media promoting fake, they just stampin’ and s***/

You don’t wanna see us beef then stop ampin’ and s***/

They was giving Meek an L, said he wouldn’t prevail/

Next thing you know that boy was in a championship/

So everyday I’m goin’ in, I’m on some vampire s***/

And every night I’m in my bag like I’m campin’ and s***/

The trenches that we grew up in need to know you can win/

So you see me in my hood on my champion s***…/”

The accompanying clip is directed by Diego Cruz and matches Fabolous’ lyrics with scenes of newspaper clippings, TMZ-esque reports and a dark room full of presumed paparazzi photos. It’s a straight response from someone who’s received negative press throughout his entire career, most recently in regards to personal issues with his family.

Released last November, Summertime Shootout 3: Coldest Summer Ever boasts 16 tracks and additional features from Ty Dolla $ign, Jeremih, Chris Brown, Roddy Ricch, Tory Lanez, Meek Mill, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and more. “Cold Summer” follows past clips for “B.O.M.B.S.,” “Choosy” and “Ooh Yea.” Previously, he teamed up with fellow New Yorker Jadakiss to release the collaborative project Friday On Elm Street in 2017.

You can press play on “Cold Summer” below. In related news, Fabolous also recently stopped by the L.A. Leakers at Power 106 to deliver some crazy bars for the listeners, proving that he’s still very much a top-tier lyricist in the game.
