Future is giving back to his city.

On Saturday (March 28), news surfaced that the 36-year-old’s FreeWishes Foundation is set to donate health masks to Atlanta hospitals to combat shortage amid Coronavirus pandemic. “As most people adapt to the new normal of staying quarantined to protect themselves from the coronavirus, healthcare professionals do not have this privilege,” the foundation said in a news release. “In addition, they do not even have enough supplies to protect themselves from contracting the coronavirus.”

The statement continued, “It is important to my brother, Future and I that we are of service to our community, especially during this pandemic and throughout the year,” Tia-Wilburn Anderson, Future’s sister and co-founder of the foundation, said.

This isn’t the first time that Future has put on for his city. As REVOLT readers might recall, back in August 2019, the “Mask Off” spitter dropped $300,000 alongside 21 Savage to rent out the entire water park at Six Flags White Water in Atlanta. The splurge allowed fans to enjoy free admission, food and drinks.

Throughout his career, Future has spoken candidly about his love for Atlanta. He confessed during a 2013 interview that his city influenced his music. “It influenced me in so many ways ‘cause I understand the roots of it, and how real Atlanta people don’t even get a chance to have a voice,” he explained when asked about growing up in ATL. “They hadn’t really heard from the real Atlanta, I’m a Grady baby, born and raised, but they don’t understand how a lot of Atlanta rappers that represent Atlanta, they really not born in Atlanta. OutKast was before us but the new generation, they never really told the street side. I’m telling the street side. Atlanta is so many sides.”

Future is not the only celebrity to help out during this time of need. Earlier this month, Rihanna also donated Coronavirus protective gear to New York.
