Idris Elba is giving fans an update regarding his health following his coronavirus diagnosis.

The Takers actor revealed that he could be immune to the virus for a certain amount of time. “Hoping everyone is coping with this s—t. Currently still quarantine, Sabrina and I still feel ok so far with no changes. Dr told us that after quarantine we will be immune for a certain time since our antibodies fought this. At some point, we’d like to go home to London. Be safe,” he shared with his fans.

Earlier this month, Elba and his wife, Sabrina, announced on social media that they were amongst the unfortunate victims that were diagnosed with Coronavirus.

“This morning I tested positive for Covid 19,” he wrote. “I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing. No panic.”

In a heartfelt video, Elba revealed the reasoning behind his decision to get tested. He explained that he was exposed to someone who previously tested positive. “I didn’t have any symptoms. I got tested because I realized I was exposed to someone who had also tested positive,” he said at the time. “I found out last Friday that they were tested positive. I quarantined myself and got a test immediately and got the results back today.”

He continued, “It sucks. Look, this is serious. Now’s the time to really think about social distancing, washing your hands. Transparency is probably the best thing for this right now. If you’re feeling ill or you feel like you should be tested or you’ve been exposed, then do something about it, alright? It’s really important.”

Like Elba, actor Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, also informed fans that they tested positive for the virus and encouraged them to take precautionary measures.
