Justin Timberlake recently teamed up with Anderson .Paak on “Don’t Slack,” the latest offering from his executive-produced Trolls World Tour soundtrack. Following the single’s release, Timberlake caught up with Zane Lowe about collaborating with the Ventura artist.

“[We] ended up with, like, three or four ideas in, like, three hours,” he told Lowe, adding that working with .Paak “was great.”

So great, in fact, that Timberlake revealed that he and .Paak have discussed linking back up on a potential collaborated project.

“I hope he doesn’t mind that I’m gonna say this right now, but we talked about a possible joint project,” he continued. “We talked about it, but yeah, he’s a busy man, too. I told him as well, I was like, ‘You need to enjoy your moment, bro.’ He played me new stuff the other day. That dude is so gifted. He’s so good.”

The new collab follows Timberlake’s previous mash-up with SZA on “The Other Side,” which will also land on the Trolls World Tour album. SZA previously described recording the single with JT while speaking with Kerwin Frost about her next album.

“Before I was like, ‘What the f*ck am I doing in the studio with Justin Timberlake right now? This is crazy,’” she said. “But when I heard his music and we started singing together… It’s like, ‘Oh, we speak the same language. The same frequency.’ I understood where he was going before he could finish a run.”

“I’m just really enjoying this moment, like, getting to work with SZA and Anderson, and it’s like a crazy thing to me,” Timberlake told Lowe of the collaborations. “I’m just in a zone where I’m really enjoying the process again, and I don’t have an agenda to make an album but if it comes together, then it comes together, and in the meantime, I just want to stack records with people that I love, and that I’m inspired by, and that happens to be a ton of people.”

The Trolls World Tour soundtrack is expected to arrive on March 13, with the film hitting theaters on April 17. .Paak will also have a role in the movie, voicing character Prince D, while Timberlake plays Branch. Besides .Paak and Timberlake, the soundtrack will also include appearances from Mary J. Blige, George Clinton, Kelly Clarkson, Kenan Thompson and more.
