News of a Rihanna documentary surfaced back in December after Amazon reportedly paid $25 million for the rights to the project about her life. At the time, the film didn’t have a title, but that has since changed. According to Deadline, the title of the Peter Berg-directed project is Rihanna: Volume 1. There is no word on whether or not the title suggests that the documentary will be a series, as noted by HipHopnMore

Berg spoke of the documentary with The Hollywood Reporter in 2017. “I’m finishing that now,” he said. “We’ve got about a thousand hours of footage. That was a fun change of pace. After Lone Survivor and Deepwater and Patriots Day, where all these men run around with guns, to go travel with Rihanna around Europe, and Rihanna is surrounded by girls. We were in Nice [France]. She was going to do a concert on Bastille Day.”

Rihanna and Berg previously worked together on the 2012 film, Battleship.

This isn’t Rihanna’s first project with Amazon, as she previously streamed her Savage x Fenty runway show exclusively on Amazon Prime Video last September. The show featured appearances from 21 Savage, Normani and more, as well as performances from the likes of Migos, DJ Khaled, Big Sean and A$AP Ferg.

To no surprise, Rihanna has continuously been on go. Most recently, she received the President’s Award at the NAACP Image Awards.

During her speech, she called for equality and asked that other races take a stand on issues that disproportionately affect the Black community. “How many of us in this room have colleagues and partners and friends from other races, sexes, religions?” she questioned. “Show of hands? Well then, they want to break bread with you, right? They like you? Well then, this is their problem, too.”

She added, “So when we’re marching and protesting and posting about the Michael Brown, Jr.’s and the Atatiana Jeffersons of the world, tell your friends to pull up.”
