Megan Thee Stallion isn’t going to let her label issues stop her from giving her fans what they want.

The Houston Hottie has announced that her long-awaited project Suga will drop this Friday, Mar. 6. She also revealed the cover art and tracklist to the project which will feature appearances from Gunna and Kehlani.

The “Cash Shit” rapper revealed to Rolling Stone that she was initially eyeing a May release date for her album, in honor of her late mother’s birthday. With the current legal issues she has with her label, it is uncertain if this is an official album or not.

Megan had fans worried once she went live on Instagram and revealed that her 1501 Certified Entertainment label was preventing her from releasing new music.

“When I signed, I didn’t really know what was in my contract,” she said on live. “I was young, I think I was like 20. And, I didn’t know everything that was in that contract. So when I signed with Roc Nation, I got real management, I got real lawyers, and they was like ‘do you know this is in your contract?’ I was like, ‘oh damn, that’s crazy no I didn’t know.’”

She continued, “Soon as I said, I wanna renegotiate my contract, everything went left. It just all went bad, it all went left. So now they’re telling a bitch that she can’t drop no music. It’s really just like, a greedy game.”

She then filed a lawsuit against Carl Crawford and his 1501 record label. TMZ reports that a Texas judge granted Megan a temporary restraining order which prevents her label from trying to block her music release this week. The restraining order also prevents 1501 from attacking her on social media.
