A new song from Frank Ocean is reportedly on the way. However, in true Ocean fashion, details surrounding the new single remain hazy, as the announcement was secretively circulated to fans via an email from the singer’s team.

According to The Fader, fans who pre-ordered Ocean’s “Little Demon” vinyl were emailed on Tuesday morning (Feb. 25) by the Blonded team. The email notified fans that Ocean’s Skepta collaboration would be replaced with a new, unreleased song from the singer.

“We are writing to inform you of a change to your purchase of the ‘Little Demon’ 7” from blonded,” the email read. “‘Little Demon’ will be replaced with a new, unreleased Frank Ocean song.”

The email also noted that those who wish to cancel their order must email customer service and request the cancellation by Friday (Feb. 28). The Blonded team also promised that the vinyls would be reaching their shipment destinations “as soon as possible.”

It’s currently unclear whether the song will only appear on vinyl or be released digitally, as well. Furthermore, some Twitter users said that despite ordering “Little Demon,” they haven’t received the email notifying them about the replaced song, adding even more confusion.

Despite the lack of transparency, Ocean’s fans immediately jumped at the possibility of a new song from the artist. The forthcoming track will follow a handful of one-off singles that Ocean dropped off last year, including “In My Room” and “DHL.” Last year also saw the launch of his PrEP+ club nights. This April, he’s scheduled to headline Coachella Music Festival, along with Rage Against The Machine and Travis Scott.

In a rare interview with W Magazine published last year, Ocean hinted toward upcoming music by naming his current inspirations.

“I’ve been interested in club, and the many different iterations of nightlife for music and songs,” he told the outlet at the time.
