Taking to Twitter on Monday (Feb. 24), Tory Lanez announced the upcoming release of his third New Toronto tape and subsequently fulfilled deal with Interscope Records. The Canadian-bred artist promised his fans that New Toronto 3 will arrive next month.

“ITS OFFICIAL, NEW TORONTO 3 COMES OUT MARCH!!!!” he wrote. “AND AS SOON AS YOU HEAR IT … I HAVE OFFICIALLY FINISHED MY DEAL WITH INTERSCOPE … ITS BEEN REAL.”

Tory says he initially had a five album deal with the recording company, which he fulfilled long ago if you count his mixtapes. Since 2016, the artist has released four studio albums, including I Told You, Memories Don’t Die, Love Me Now and Chixtape 5, making New Toronto 3 his fifth LP.

Despite airing frustrations with the label in December, Tory also claimed the relationship has ended on good terms.

“And it’s no bad blood with the label [Interscope],” he wrote in a second tweet. “I HAD A 5 ALBUM DEAL ….I GAVE THEM 12 PROJECTS /ALBUMS if u include all the mixtapes with original music. I can OFFICIALLY go on record and say I exceeded that 5 ALBUM MARK … AND IM STILL JUST GETTING MY FEET IN THE WATER.”

Late last year, Tory threatened to “expose” Interscope following the release of Chixtape 5.

Furthermore, the “Say It” singer admitted to releasing music that would “get [his fans] by” over the past four years.

“I haven’t dropped the music that I REALLY wanted to for the last 4 years,” he wrote. “I just freestyle’d sh*t and songs that WOULD GET YOU BY, up until i said fu*k it ‘i gotta atleast go 60 % or they gone start thinking I’m super trash then boom ‘CHIXTAPE 5’ but this should be fun tho.”

Although Tory didn’t offer an official drop date for New Toronto 3, if all goes as planned the project could arrive in a matter of weeks. The series’ third installment will serve as the follow-up to 2017’s New Toronto 2 and arrives five years after the inaugural The New Toronto.
