Kamaiyah is back.

The Bay area native returns with her new project Got It Made, which was released via her own GRND.WRK imprint (by way of Empire). The release is her latest since 2017’s Before I Wake and “almost 4 years” since her official debut, A Good Night in the Ghetto.

Got It Made sees 10 new tracks, with additional assistance from Capolow, J. Espinosa and Trina — the latter of whom traded bars with her younger counterpart on the single “Set It Up”:

“…since it’s your card that I’m spending/

I’ma run it up, n***a, these cards ain’t got no limit/

Bought a bracelet, tennis, VVS’s in it/

Since I got your s***, I’ma keep running up those digits/

You think it’s a game and you can f*** with other b***hes/

Yeah, aight, n***a, your windows, get to fixing/

My mama told me, ‘Never let a n***a make you fold’/

Not a lie was told, all your game exposed/

Boy, you think you can play me like I’m one of these lil’ h***?/

I’m a big ass boss, standin’ tall up on ten toes…/”

Kamaiyah first made waves on the scene via a cosign from Compton star YG and her highly-rated debut A Good Night In The Ghetto, which boasted 16 dancefloor-ready cuts and features from Zay and the aforementioned YG. That album ended up on top-of lists for that year from Rolling Stone, Guardian and other outlets, essentially locking her in as an artist to watch out moving forward. The following year, she upped her momentum with the surprise mixtape Before I Wake, which fed her fans with 10 new tracks to add to their party playlist.
