The perfect type of vibes that arrives days after Valentine’s Day. This week, the incredibly talented Kaash Paige is revealing the real relationship issues we see in real life via her latest single and music video for “Heartbreaker.” The song sees the Dallas songstress being admittedly “toxic” to her significant other, giving a level of honesty you don’t hear much in today’s music:

“Tell you that I love you just to make you stay/

You tell me I’m toxic but you love me that way, that way/

And, girl, I be missin’ you, but just not today/

I really miss kissin’ you, girl, what’s the play? What’s the play?/

Hit you up on the late nights just to chill/

You say you poppin’ Perkies, let’s pop a pill/

They say, “It’s for my anxiety,” yeah/

You are for my sobriety, yeah, yeah…/”

The guitar-driven single is somewhat reminiscent of TDE’s SZA (even as I type this, she effortlessly — and impressively — switches up her style on said track), all the while still coming with an originality all Kaash Paige’s own.

The accompanying visual — directed by Lonewolf — sees Kaash and her crew on a night out, starting from the woods to a house party. All the while, Kaash & Co. let their inhibitions go, a perfect match for the realism that can be heard in the adjoining lyrics.

“Heartbreaker” can be found on last year’s EP Parked Car Convos (via Def Jam), which contains eight need-to-hear tracks from the rising star. It’s also being said that Kaash is looking to liberate her official debut this year…the world could definitely use more new-age soul vibes from her sooner than later.

As we wait, you can check out the visual for “Heartbreaker” below. Parked Car Convos is available here; fans can also check out her recently-released single, “Sobriety.”
