Back in November, Ohio star Trippie Redd delivered the fourth installment of his highly-rated mixtape series A Love Letter To You, which boasted a whopping 21 tracks and features from YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Smokepurpp, Tory Lanez, YNW Melly, Lil Wop, DaBaby, the late Juice WRLD and many more. This Friday, the Midwest artist looks to up the ante with a Deluxe version of the aforementioned project, which is already confirmed to feature the Young Thug-assisted “YELL OH,” which dropped earlier this month. Today, we get another new cut: the thumping, melodic “The Way,” a collaboration with fellow hip hop peer Russ.

On the Pearl Lion, Igor Mamet and Beat Club-produced single, Trippie and Russ sing about relationships and heartbreak:

“Girl, you different, you actin’ real distant/

All this love ain’t for nothin’/

I’m over here missin’, we can’t keep goin’/

I thought that you knew, so lost without you/

And you’re the reason, said you’re the reason…/”

In addition to the upcoming release, Trippie Redd was also recently in the news thanks to veteran bully-on-wax Eminem, who seemed to send a dart in Trippie’s direction via “Marsh,” which comes from Em’s surprise release Music To Be Murdered By:

“Once I get going, rain, thunder, it’s storming/

Puddles are forming, I hear somebody’s voice In my head, say it’s still a dream/

Then he said kill emcees/

Trippie Redd, with pills and lean/

Sipping meds in the limousine/

Getting head, guillotine…/”

Trippie seemed to respond to the lyrics via his social media, stating, “N***as be 50 beefing with a [15 year] old.” Whether or not A Love Letter To You 4 contains even more of a response from Trippie remains to be seen come February 21st.
