Polo G will add to several charitable and tribute events planned for Chicago’s upcoming NBA All-Star Weekend with an Audiomack-collaborated “Hometown Heroes” benefit concert. The “Pop Out” rapper and Audiomack announced the event with a press release on Tuesday (Feb. 11).

“We are extremely excited to partner with Polo G to bring our ‘Hometown Heroes’ Live Concert Series to Chicago for All-Star Weekend,” Audiomack Senior Director of Marketing and Brand Strategy Jason Johnson said in the statement. “We are focused on supporting the next generation of superstars and want to make sure that every artist has all the tools they need to excel.”

Local and out-of-town stars G Herbo, Calboy, Dreezy, NLE Choppa, Tink, HappyBirthdayCalvin, Heavy Steppers, Ann Marie and more are also set to perform. Hosted at Chicago’s Metro venue, the event will donate a portion of its ticket sales to local youth-based programs, including Polo’s AAU Boys Basketball Team, adolescent mental health nonprofit Erika’s Lighthouse and The Boys & Girls Club of Chicago.

“The purpose of the Concert For A Cause is to give back to my city,” Polo said in the release. “I remember struggling with my own issues. I didn’t have anyone to talk to. I want to help the youth in Chicago any way I can because I was once in the same shoes. Thank you Audiomack and every artist that made this possible. Salute!”

NBA All-Star Weekend will kick off this Saturday (Feb. 15). Among the two-day festivities will include a tribute for the late Chicago-native Juice WRLD and NBA legend Kobe Bryant. Chance the Rapper, who will play in the All-Star Celebrity game alongside his brother Taylor Bennett, spoke of Bryant’s passing in a recent All-Star Weekend ad.

“NBA All-Star. It happens every year. But this year is different,” he said. “The game will have more meaning than it’s ever had before. The league, the fans, the players will all pay tribute to the legendary Kobe Bryant. For an entire generation he defined the title ‘NBA All-Star.’”

Tickets for Polo G and Audiomack’s Sunday (Feb. 16) concert are currently on sale.
