Fathers everywhere are paying homage to Kobe Bryant by sharing photos of themselves with their daughters under the hashtag #girldad.

Last night (Jan. 27), ESPN reporter Elle Duncan shared her fondest memory of Bryant. She shed light on how much he loved being a father to his girls.

When Duncan approached Bryant for a photo backstage at an event, he immediately noticed her pregnant belly and asked questions about when she was expecting and what the sex of the baby would be. She told Bryant she was having a girl, to which he replied, “Girls are the best.”

Duncan says she asked Bryant for advice about raising girls, seeing as though he had three daughters with his wife Vanessa at that time. He said that his wife “really wanted to try again for a boy,” but was “jokingly” worried it would be another girl ”And I was like, ‘four girls, are you joking? What would you think? How would you feel?’” Duncan said. “Without hesitation, he said ‘I would have five more girls if I could. I’m a girl dad.’”

That touching story caused #girldad to start trending on Twitter. Fathers everywhere are posting pictures of themselves with their daughters.

Artists like Timbaland and Bow Wow paid tribute to Bryant by posting pictures of themselves with their daughters. Timbaland tweeted, “My baby Reign ♥️♥️♥️ #girldad” with three pictures of his baby girl.

Duncan took to Twitter to show her appreciation to everyone who supported her story about Bryant and his love for his children.

She wrote, “I’m so moved by the outpouring of support behind my story about Kobe. And I love that #girldad is trending.. so for all those proud fathers who still have their girls to love on can you flood my timeline with pics of you and your flock. Honestly I need it as much as anyone rt now.”
