A video began circulating this week of a white rapper getting punched for using the N-word during his rap. According to TMZ, Boosie BadAzz thinks the rapper got what was coming to him. On the other hand, the Baton Rouge rapper says it’s okay for white people to use the term in varying circumstances.

While speaking with the outlet at LAX airport, Boosie addressed the clip of William Wolf getting punched by his opponent Avenue C for saying “my n—a.” “It was probably just a bad situation. I’ve had close white friends call me ‘My n—a.’ You can’t do that in certain situations. You gotta know how to say that word,” Boosie said.

“In battle rap, you dissin. In a battle rap, it’s different. It’s aggression,” Boosie continued. “The other word is like, ‘Love, my n—a.’ You saying n—a like…they was supposed to bust him in his sh-t. They did the right thing. [He] was trying to be derogatory with it, [offensive] with it. That’s something you can’t do.”

Boosie was recently involved in his own controversy after wearing a Kappa Alpha Psi shirt. He was spotted at a Houston Rockets and Atlanta Hawks basketball game when he was wearing the fraternity’s paraphernalia. Boosie received comments from members of the fraternity who didn’t mind and from others who were offended.

Boosie responded saying, “I WAS N THE MALL LOOKING FOR RED N SAW THE SWEATER N IT WAS HARD. YES I KNEW IT WAS A KAPPA SWEATER. I THOUGHT I WOULD GET LOVE FROM WEARING IT NOT HATE. CALM YALL AS DOWN BRA I WAS JUST GETTING FRESH #leavemealone.”

Black fraternity and sorority paraphernalia is exclusive to the members of the organization, hence the backlash he received.

He later apologized in a video on social media. “Aye check this out. Uhh, I wanna give a shout out to all the Kappas mane. If I offended y’all in any kind of way that’s my bad. You know, but uhh, I ain’t gon wear y’all shirt no more,” he said. “I just found out that y’all step to ‘Wipe Me Down.’ I pull it up on YouTube and all y’all do is step to ‘Wipe Me Down.’ So, I’m not gon wear the shirt but guess what y’all gotta do for me? Since y’all step off ‘Wipe Me Down’ y’all gotta teach me how to do the dance. Y’all gotta teach me how to do the Kappa stuff, the Kappa dance. Cause imma hit that b-tch on Boosie Bash.”
