Cardi B has been outspoken about her political views in the past, but a recent tweet suggests she may take on a more active role in the US government.

On Sunday (Jan. 12), the “I Like It” rapper shared what could be her next career move on Twitter.

“I think I want to be a politician,” she wrote. “I really love government even tho I don’t agree with Goverment.”

Cardi followed up the announcement with a few more elaborating tweets.

“Like I was watching War documentaries. No matter how many weapons a country have you need people!” she wrote. “How are you trying to go against a country and possibly start a war when this country lacks patriotism? I barely see people claiming they LOVE being American.”

“I do feel like if I go back to school and focus up I can be part of Congress.I deadass have sooo much ideas that make sense,” she continued. “I just need a couple of years of school and I can shake the table.”

The Bronx-born star also added that she’ll be discussing her ideas further during an upcoming Instagram Live session.

“I will have to explain a lot so I will have to do a video or a live talking about it …So imma come back to my last two tweets another day,” she tweeted. “Imma talk about it another day.”

In the past, Cardi used her massive Instagram following to share an interview she conducted with presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. Her endorsement of the Vermont senator also followed her viral commentary over the 2019 government shut down.

“Hey y’all, I just wanna remind you, because it’s been a little bit over three weeks, okay. Trump is now ordering, as in summoning, federal government workers to go back to work without getting paid,” she’d said in an Instagram video. “Now, I don’t want to hear y’all . . . talking about, ‘Oh, but Obama shut down the government for 17 days.’ Yeah! . . . For health care! So your grandma could check her blood pressure!”

The viral clip even prompted Stephen Colbert to launch a petition calling for Cardi to deliver a State of the Union rebuttal speech.

More recently, Cardi also condemned the US airstrike that killed Iranian Maj. Gen. Qasem Soleimani and flexed her extensive presidential knowledge in her recent GQ feature. As a response to World War III memes, Bardi says she’ll be pursing citizenship and relocating to Nigeria.
