Trick Daddy responds to people making fun of his mugshot
Trick Daddy does not think his lupus is funny.
Trick Daddy’s viral mugshot has been shared around the internet after he was arrested for cocaine possession and DUI. Many people made jokes and laughed about his appearance in the photo, but a lot of people did not realize that Trick has been battling from lupus.
Trick responded to the jokes and memes by letting his fans know how much the disease affects him. In a message shared on his Instagram story, he wrote, “Let me get this right… you lie on me… make fun of the fact that I have lupus… and all this just for likes… thank god im strong…everything is funny until it hits close to home…my feelings don’t hurt easily I’m too worried about waking up tomorrow.”
According to Lupus Foundation of America, lupus is “a chronic (long-term) disease that can cause inflammation and pain in any part of your body. It’s an autoimmune disease, which means that your immune system attacks healthy tissue instead. Symptoms can include swelling and pain in your skin, joints, and internal organs.” It’s also the same condition Toni Braxton and Nick Cannon currently have.
During a former interview with “The Breakfast Club,” Trick said that he stopped taking his lupus medication and self-medicated with cocaine-laces joints instead.
“When I smoke weed and coke, the worst thing that’s gonna happen to me is Imma got to sleep or eat,” he said. “When I take the Lupus medicine, I gotta take a pill for this pill, a pill for that pill… then I gotta go back to the doctor every 30 days and give them my money.”
The “Thug Holiday” rapper was arrested Saturday (Jan. 11) after Miami-Dade police discovered him asleep behind the wheel. He admitted to having a few drinks the evening prior. He failed his field sobriety test and was taken into custody. Officers searched his belongings and found a rolled up dollar bill with alleged cocaine residue inside of it. He posted $6,000 bail and was released the same day.
