If you thought Lifetime was done with R. Kelly, think again. The network announced Wednesday (Dec. 11) that a second part to their “Surviving R. Kelly” docuseries will air in Jan. 2020.

“Surviving R. Kelly Part II: The Reckoning” will be a two night, four-hour special. The special will take a look into the cultural impact in the aftermath of the first special. It will also give viewers the rundown on everything that has happened to the “Trapped In The Closet” singer since it premiered, including the termination of his record contract, the gun threat at the docuseries’ premiere, the state charges against Kelly and the pair of federal indictments.

According to Rolling Stone, “The follow-up will feature new interviews with journalist Jim DeRogatis, Damon Dash, Mathew Knowles, #MeToo Founder Tarana Burke, W. Kamau Bell, State’s Attorney for Cook County Kimberly Foxx, lawyer Michael Avenatti (who represents some of Kelly’s alleged victims) and women like Jerhonda Pace and Kitti Jones, who featured prominently in Surviving R. Kelly .”

New accusations against the singer will also be unveiled in the special. Kelly was recently charged with using bribery to obtain a fake ID to marry a then 15-year-old Aaliyah. In an interview with ABC’s “Good Morning America” earlier this year, Kelly’s attorney, Steven Greenberg, claimed that Kelly had did not know Aaliyah’s real age. “My understanding is that she did not claim to be 15, and in order to get married, she had to lie about her age,” Greenberg said. Following this new indictment, Greenberg said the alleged bribe “does not appear to materially alter the landscape.”

Azriel Clary, the singer’s girlfriend, recently moved out of the Trump Tower condo she was sharing with Kelly and his other girlfriend, Joycelyn Savage. Since Kelly has been incarcerated, Clary has resurfaced on her social media accounts still showing her love and support for Kelly. “I promise you, he is not the person you guys think he is. He is the best thing that’s ever happened to me and Azriel [Clary],” she continued. “I talk to him everyday and see him every two weeks.”
