G Herbo is defending his fellow Chicagoan and friend, Juice WRLD, after Joyner Lucas blamed his death on rappers who glorified drug usage.

In a tweet Lucas said, “Juice wrld was 21. He was a product of our generation of rappers who glorified drugs and made it cool. Im blaming Yal niggaz for this shit. all that lean and pills niggaz glorify and talk about. You teaching the kids to do it. Smh you happy now? Rip @JuiceWorlddd. Gone too soon.”

G Herbo got wind of Lucas’ comments and wrote a lengthy paragraph on Instagram to defend his friend. “He a fucking clown,” he wrote, referring to Lucas. “Niggas don’t know what niggas going thru! Niggas ain’t tryna be cool shorty was on top of the fucking world you think he was tryna fit in??? If that Shit was easy shorty would’ve quit!! Shorty ain’t see nun of this shit coming!!! He ain’t see millions coming fame coming nun of that shit!!”

Lucas has since responded to G Herbo’s comments telling him that he misinterpreted what he said. “I never said juice was trying to be cool or trying to fit in. Bro was a genius and absolutely had some of the best music in the world,” he replied. He continued, “I think what’s frustrating to me is the fact that there’s a entire hip hop generation who been influencing these young kids for years to do drugs and lean. Straight up telling you to do it. Telling you it’s cool. Telling you it makes them feel better and you should do it too.”

There has been a lot of talk within the hip hop community regarding the negative influence that some of these rappers have on people. Juice WRLD himself, said that Future influenced him to do lean when he was younger.

Do you think the hip hop community needs to set a better example to the youth?
