Meek Mill was apparently in control of the aux cord at his family’s Thanksgiving dinner last night (Nov. 28).

“I’m playing all my new sh*t at the family get together tonight lol I got the aux cord lol,” he tweeted.

It seemed Meek’s handling of the music at his family party inspired him to launch a greater internet campaign, which he’s calling ‘Pass The Aux.’

“Ima start something call #passtheaux for up and coming artist that’s flame and ima have 10 celebs post you to give you a push… and twitter gone be the judge!” he wrote on Twitter.

The new campaign will shine a light on underground artists. The rapper further explained that he’s planning to start Pass The Aux on Monday, although he has already retweeted a few up-and-coming artists who have used the hashtag.

“Monday we gone start!!!!” he tweeted. “Or maybe I should plan it and make it big.”

Meek also passed the aux to Fabolous, who dropped his Summertime Shootout 3: Coldest Summer Ever album on Friday (Nov. 29), which features Meek on “Talk To Me Nicely.”

The Philadelphia-bred rapper launched his Dream Chasers label imprint with Roc Nation earlier this year. His new Twitter campaign, in which celebrities will give new artists a platform and Twitter users will judge the quality of the music, may even help Meek find some potential label signees.

“I’m 32 years old, I’m in a nice spot in the music business and I think it’s time for me to focus on growing artists because that’s what I love to do,” Meek previously told Rolling Stone about his new venture under JAY-Z’s label. “I love to spend time on helping artists grow, and I think it’s time for me to dive in, business-wise.”

“Hip-hop is not just music — it’s music, it’s art, it’s fashion — so that can be applied to any silo of business,” JAY told the outlet about his and Meek’s vision for Dream Chasers. “[Music is] just one aspect of it. That’s the pipe. The overall and overarching view is for us to boss up and do things together and pull each other up and get control of the things that we produce.”
