On Wednesday morning (Nov. 20), the nominations for the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards were revealed, with Lizzo, J. Cole and Lil Nas X leading the way. Nipsey Hussle has several posthumous nods, and H.E.R., Meek Mill, Post Malone and more are also represented.

Alicia Keys, who will host the upcoming awards ceremony for the second time, announced the nominations for the coveted Best New Artist spot— Black Pumas, Billie Eilish, Lil Nas, Lizzo, Rosalia, Tank and the Bangas, Maggie Rogers and Yola.

Lil Nas and Lizzo are also nominated for the Album of the Year, with Nas’ 7 and Lizzo’s Cuz I Love You, along with H.E.R. for I Used To Know Her.

Hip hop and R&B are well-represented across the Record of the Year category, with Lil Nas nominated for “Old Town Road” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, Lizzo for “Truth Hurts,” Post Malone and Swae Lee for “Sunflower,” Khalid for “Talk” and H.E.R. for “Hard Place.” Lizzo and H.E.R.’s tracks are also nominated for Song of the Year.

Lizzo is also nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album, Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Jerome” and Best R&B Performance for “Exactly How I Feel” featuring Gucci Mane.

J. Cole leads for Best Rap Performance, with nominations for his song “Middle Child” and Dreamville’s “Down Bad,” featuring J.I.D, Bas, EARTHGANG and Young Nudy. Also nominated for Best Rap Performance is DaBaby with “Suge,” Nipsey Hussle for “Racks in the Middle” featuring Roddy Ricch and Hit-Boy and Cardi B and Offset for their collaborated “Clout.”

DaBaby’s “Suge” and Nipsey Hussle’s “Racks in the Middle” are also nominated for Best Rap Song, along with J. Cole and 21 Savage’s “A Lot,” Rick Ross and Drake’s “Gold Roses” and YBN Cordae’s “Bad Idea” featuring Chance the Rapper.

For Best Rap/ Sung Performance, Lil Nas makes a reappearance with his song “Panini.” Also in the running are Lil Baby and Gunna for their collaborated “Drip Too Hard,” DJ Khaled, Nipsey Hussle and John Legend for “Higher,” Mustard and Roddy Ricch for “Ballin” and Young Thug, J. Cole and Travis Scott for “The London.”

For the coveted Best Rap Album spot, Dreamville’s Revenge of the Dreamers III, Meek Mill’s Championships, 21 Savage’s I Am > I Was, Tyler, the Creator’s IGOR and YBN Cordae’s The Lost Boy are all nominated.

In Best R&B Album, the nominations include BJ The Chicago Kid’s 1123, Lucky Daye’s Painted, Ella Mai’s Ella Mai, PJ Morton’s Paul and Anderson .Paak’s Ventura.

Chris Brown and Drake’s “No Guidance” gains a nomination for Best R&B Song, with H.E.R. and Bryson Tiller also included for “Could’ve Been,” Emily King for “Look At Me Now,” Lucky Daye for “Role Some Mo” and PJ Morton for “Say So.”

Lil Nas is also represented in the pop category, nominated for Best Pop Duo with Billy Ray Cyrus for “Old Town Road.” Post Malone and Swae Lee are also nomianted for this award, for their collaborated “Sunflower.” Beyonce’s “Spirit” is nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance and her The Lion King: The Gift is awarded a nom for Best Pop Vocal Album.

The 62nd Annual Grammy Awards will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, televised at 8 p.m. EST on Jan. 26, 2020.
