On Monday evening (Nov. 18), Cardi B decided to give her Instagram followers a little treat while they wait for her to drop her highly anticipated sophomore LP. The Grammy Award winner posted a quick freestyle to social media, captioned, “Just a little something something ……hair on healthy.”

Over a triumphant beat, which Cam’ron or “Magnum, P.I.” fans may recognize, Bardi drops hard-hitting verses about climbing to success, her recent acting debut in Hustlers and mocks her haters.

“I be in a mansion and you be in my mentions / Right out the trenches to the top of the charts / I lost friends on the way, this sh*t is breaking my heart / 30 seconds in I’m like where do I start / I don’t act, I’m a hustler, just playing my part,” she raps.

Cardi’s released her debut studio album, Invasion of Privacy, last year. The record won the Bronx-bred rapper her first Grammy Award for Best Rap Album and the BET Award for Album of the Year.

This year, she’s stayed busy with singles and collaborations, including “Please Me” with Bruno Mars, “Press,” “South of the Border” with Camila Cabello and Ed Sheeran and “YES” featuring Fat Joe and Anuel AA.

“This just a little something ‘till I finish out the album,” she ended her 1-minute freestyle.

Last month, Cardi claimed her sophomore effort would be titled Tiger Woods.

“I think I’m going to name my album Tiger Woods,” she told Elliott Wilson on the “Rap Radar” podcast. “I think I’m going to call it Tiger Woods because remember when everybody was talking sh*t on Tiger Woods, like ‘Oh blah blah, blah blah this, blah blah that,’ and then he f**king came and won that green jacket? That’s what I’m going to name my album.”

However, she later rescinded her comment and assured fans she was just joking.

“I’m working on my album, I already have two songs,” she continued. “I actually have three but I’m not sure about one of them. I’m working on it.”

Her sophomore album is due out next year. Watch Cardi’s freestyle below.
