Lil Reese was reportedly shot on Monday (Nov. 11) in his home state of Illinois. Local news outlet ABC 7 reports that the drill rapper was shot at an intersection in the south suburban Country Club Hills area, which is about 25 miles south of Chicago. Reese was reportedly taken to the nearby South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, IL and was later transferred to the Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL, where he is currently in critical condition.

Police reportedly responded to the shooting at 2:30 p.m. (EST) after witnesses claimed they had heard at least 12 gun shots in the surrounding area. Once at the crime scene, Country Club Hills Police Department say they found a vehicle with fresh blood on the driver’s seat and on the ground below the driver’s side door.

Although witnesses claim to have heard 12 gunshots, earlier reports indicate that Reese was hit only once. The Chicago-born rapper was allegedly chased by a gunman who was using a small rifle. TMZ reports that Reese was shot in the neck.

As of Tuesday (Nov. 12) morning, the local police department has not made any arrests and the investigation is currently still open. Bossip reports that authorities are on the lookout for a car linked to the shooting, describing the vehicle as a Chevy Malibu with either white or gray tinted windows with a Wisconsin license plate.

Lil Durk took to Twitter to inform fans about Reese’s condition. At around 7:30 p.m. (EST) on Monday (Nov. 11), Durk tweeted, “Reese good.”

The “No Label” rapper shared a second tweet around midnight on Tuesday (Nov. 12), adding, “God blessing all the trap ni**as.”

Earlier this year, Reese dropped off his GetBackGang 2 EP, which featured Chief Keef and Fredo Santana. His latest single, “Kick in the Door,” features Ari Stylez.
