Kodak Black will be sentenced this week.

According to XXL, Kodak, who has been behind bars in Miami’s Federal Detention Center since May when he was arrested just ahead of his 2019 Rolling Loud Miami Festival performance, will be sentenced on Wednesday (Nov. 13). The South Florida rapper was arrested on federal firearms charges and decided to forgo a trial and pleaded guilty instead. Kodak initially pled not guilty to the charges, but later changed his plea on Aug. 22.

Kodak could be facing between four and 20 years in prison. Each of the two counts he has been charged with carry a statutory minimum of 10 years. Thus, the “ZEZE” rapper could be looking at up to 20 years in federal prison, according to The Associated Press.

Per Kodak’s plea deal, however, the government has recommended that his sentence is on “low end of the guideline range.” The decision is solely at the discretion of the judge.

We previously reported that Kodak has been accused of falsifying documents in order to illegally obtain multiple firearms on more than one occasion. One of the firearms Kodak purchased was later found at the scene of a South Florida shooting.

The federal judge denied Kodak’s request for bond, stating that the rapper is a danger to the community based on his criminal record.

In other news, the rapper was reportedly involved in a prison fight last month, which left one correctional officer hospitalized. Miami news outlet, WPLG Local 10, reported that the fight transpired between two inmates at the Federal Detention Center, which is where Kodak is currently behind bars.

Kodak allegedly got involved in the fight and kicked a prison guard in the groin, as they attempted to break up the altercation. The guard was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery for the injury.
