Future’s ‘Monster’ mixtape finally hits streaming services

  /  10.28.2019

Exactly five years after the initial release of Monster, Future’s 13th mixtape is now, finally, available on streaming platforms. Executive-produced by Metro Boomin, the 13-track tape comes just in time for the tail-end of spooky season.

Following the release of Hendrix’s Save Me EP this June, the tape features a lone verse from Lil Wayne on “After That,” as well as production from Metro Boomin, Southside, DJ Spinz, TM88, DJ Plug and more.

“I’ve always spoke through my music and the people championed my trials and tribulations whole heartedly with no regards,” the Atlanta-bred MC wrote on Instagram. “Remember #MONSTER 5 years later this classic is available on all platforms, Thanks for the love.”

Monster serves as one-third of Future’s post-Honest trilogy, which also includes his 2015 tapes, Beast Mode and 56 Nights.

Future isn’t the only rapper who’s dropped an aptly named project this month. Two weeks ago, G-Eazy came through with his Scary Nights EP, followed closely by the second installment of Gucci Mane’s Woptober series.

In other Future news, although the rapper was seen enjoying himself at Drake’s 33rd birthday party, he’s currently the target of two ongoing paternity cases. Last week, Cindy Renae Parker filed legal documents in Nueces County, TX, claiming that Future is the father of her three-month-old son, Legend, who shares Future’s last name. Parker has yet to serve Future the papers, as she’s allegedly been unable to reach him.

The case comes after Florida woman, Eliza Seraphin, filed a paternity lawsuit against the rapper this August. In her ongoing case, she claims Future is the father of her six-month-old daughter. The two women recently teamed up on social media to share photos of their children and have started selling t-shirts that read, “1 (800) DEADBEAT,” aimed at Future.

Hendrix denied paternity in regard to Seraphin’s case and has since accused her of fraud.
