Earlier this month, three men were indicted in connection to Mac Miller’s fatal overdose. On Thursday (Oct. 10), one of the alleged dealers, Cameron Petit, pleaded not guilty to supplying Miller with counterfeit oxycodone pills laced with fentanyl.

According to TMZ, Petit entered his plea during his arraignment held in Los Angeles federal court. As for Miller’s other alleged dealer, Stephen Walter, his arraignment is pushed back to later this month due to a case of the mumps.

As stated previously, Miller ordered from Petit, Petit ordered from Walter and Ryan Reavis delivered the drugs from Walter to Petit. As a result, all three men were charged with conspiring to distribute controlled substances that resulted in death. The media outlet also reports that each charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years.

Per Column Health, users are gravitating towards fentanyl because of its addictive quality. “Users are gravitating toward it because of the prospect of a more euphoric high, while dealers are gravitating towards it because it is a potent mixer than can enhance the addictive quality of their product,” the site reports. “This combination has proven profoundly lethal, and drug deaths involving fentanyl more than doubled from 2015 to 2016, and are up 540% overall in the past three years.”

Shortly after it was revealed that Petit was arrested in connection to Miller’s death, the rapper’s father, Mark McCormick, spoke on the situation. “So they finally caught the muthaf–ka that sold him the drugs that killed him,” McCormick said. “And we find some comfort in that. Many of us who were young, including me, experiment with drugs. But it’s a different f–king world out there. All it takes is a little tiny stone of Fentanyl and cocaine and you’re dead.”

REVOLT TV will provide more updates as the story unfolds.
