During Amber Guyger’s trial, Joshua Brown took the stand to testify. A few days later, Brown was shot and killed outside of his apartment complex.

While on Twitter, Nicki Minaj reposted a tweet that centered around Brown’s death. “Man sacrificed his life fkn w/ tht witness stand & Botham family was all in the courtroom suckin Guyger’s d–k. I hate this entire situation.”

After, Minaj issued a response. “I wonder if they were hugging on him after he got off that stand the way they were all boo hoo cryin, hugging on the murderer,” Minaj said in reference to Judge Kemp who hugged Guyger. “Talk about a slap in the face. Go hug on his fatherless child now. He should’ve let y’all suffer & minded his business. This is heartbreaking. RIP.”

On Sunday (Oct. 6), activist Shaun King announced a cash reward for anyone who might be able to help with identifying Brown’s murderer. “BIG ANNOUNCEMENT,” he wrote. “My friend and brother Bill Perkins @BillPerkins is providing $100,000 for the reward to help us find who murdered Joshua Brown. Joshua was executed. He was a lead witness in the murder of Botham Jean & was shot & killed right there in his apartment complex. We will not stop until we find who did this. Joshua had no enemies, no debts, worked full-time and lived a very quiet life.”

In addition to Minaj, many on social media have shared their thoughts on the situation as well. “No one in that courtroom hugged Joshua Brown when he broke down crying on the witness stand. Instead, they hugged and coddled the murderer, while two Black men died at her expense. And that, folks, is first-class white supremacy. # Justice4JoshuaBrown.”
