Two years after his untimely death, Lil Peep’s mother is speaking out on her son’s behalf.

According to a new report from TMZ, Lil Peep’s mother, Liza Womack, filed a lawsuit against First Access Entertainment and people associated with the company. Womack claims that during Peep’s The Peep Show tour, the use of controlled drugs and illegal substances were allowed and normalized by management. During a stop in London, Womack recalled that her son was gifted a bottle of pills by one of his managers during a group dinner.

According to the court documents, Peep was regularly supplied with Xanax, Ketamine and other drugs while on the road. Medical News Today reports that Ketamine is a commonly abused recreational drug. “Ketamine is a medication that is used to induce loss of consciousness or anesthesia. It can produce relaxation and relieve pain in humans and animals.”

Although Peep allegedly expressed being too tired to complete the tour, his management didn’t take it into consideration. Womack alleges that the tour company ignored his pleas and “pushed [Peep] onto stage after stage in city after city, plying and propping” him up with drugs.

For the tour’s last stop in El Paso, Womack alleges that Peep’s manager, Belinda Mercer, told him to take “an excessive amount of Xanax.” Mercer was hopeful that Peep would get sick and insurance would cover the cost of the show’s cancellation. In addition to that, Mercer reportedly had a sexual relationship with Peep.

Throughout hip hop, there has been an unfortunate overuse of drugs and alcohol. More recently, police arrested three men in connection to Mac Miller’s untimely death, back in September of 2018. The late rapper was given counterfeit drugs — oxycodone pills laced with fentanyl.
