Kanye West and Rick Fox have joined forces to help with Hurricane Dorian relief.

According to a statement from the Bahamas Information Services, Kanye and Fox visited the National Emergency Management Agency on Thursday (Oct. 3), where they spoke with officials about their plans to help the Bahamian reconstruction committee. “[Kanye West and Rick Fox] met with John Michael Clarke of the reconstruction committee and Godfrey Rolle, Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ representative at NEMA,” the statement reads. The statement also shared that West and Fox want to assist residents who were displaced by the natural disaster.

The initiative has a different level of importance for Rick Fox. According to TMZ, the former NBA star is the president of the Bahamas Relief Foundation. He also lived in the Bahamas when he was younger before moving to the United States. The 3-time NBA champion has had a hand in helping raise funds and supplies for the Bahamas.

“As I witnessed the massive devastation that hurricane Dorian caused, I was moved to create the Bahamas Relief Foundation,” Fox said.

Kanye and Fox are part of the growing list of celebrities who have contributed to Hurricane Dorian relief. Michael Jordan pledged $1 million to relief efforts, while Tyler Perry sent supplies via his own personal seaplane.

On another note, according to EWNews.com, the Bahamian government will table several bills to prioritize Hurricane Dorian reconstruction efforts. “We are seeking to make sure that we do all that we can legislatively to move the reconstruction effort forward and to rebuild the lives of the Bahamian people both in Abaco and Grand Bahama and in the wider Bahamas,” said Renward Wells, Leader of Government Business in Parliament.

He added, “We are seeking to try and get the country back as quickly as possible to a sense of normalcy so our legislative agenda is going to reflect that.”
