If you’re a fan of REVOLT TV – and of course you are – you already know how much we support #BlackExcellence and #BlackOwnedBusinesses. So, it should come as no surprise that we recently partnered up with Amazon Web Services for the Code to Color pitch competition, an initiative that aimed to help give proper tools to young, aspiring entrepreneurs who want to become their own bosses.
Hosted by the co-founders of Rap Plug, Branden Criss and Craig King; the competition was stiff, but was soon narrowed down to five semi-finalists. From there, the young businesspeople pitched their ideas to a panel of judges and then one lucky winner was chosen. And when we say “lucky,” we mean it! The entrepreneur, whose name was Dumarkus Davis, won $10,000 in credits to help further grow his company, musicbuk. When Rikai asked him to give details about musicbuk, Davis stated that it was a “music education marketing place” that teaches people how to play instruments by connecting them with instructors.
“AWS is excited to support winners of the Code in Color pitch competition with credits to scale their businesses on the cloud,” Rikai said. “AWS provides a large suite of cloud-based tools and services to empower developers and enable business owners to serve their customers quickly, efficiently, and at scale.”
AWS’ messaging also continues, “From website hosting, data storage and analytics, to machine learning algorithms for complex problems, AWS has an incredibly broad solution set, and Code in Color entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to take advantage of these tools for free!”
Be sure to check out the recap video below of the Code In Color pitch competition, as well as to get more information about AWS. Hopefully, it will inspire some more up-and-coming business moguls – yourself included.
