R. Kelly isn’t doing too well in jail.

According to TMZ, R. Kelly has been facing health issues while behind bars. Kelly’s lawyer, Steve Greenberg, claims that the singer is not receiving adequate medical treatment. Moving forward, Greenberg is citing this as a reason as to why his client should be released on bond. Greenberg argues that Kelly is not a flight risk.

In addition to that, Greenberg claims that his client isn’t being treated fairly. Kelly has two girlfriends, Azriel Clary and Jocelyn Savage, however, only one is allowed to visit him every 90 days. “Although he lives and has lived with two lady friends, only one of them is allowed to be on his visiting list, and after 90 days he’s required to switch,” Greenberg said.

Throughout his ongoing legal trouble, the two ladies have done their best to offer support. TMZ reported that Savage and Clary are looking into projects that offer a big payoff including a potential book deal. Secondly, Savage and Clary are trying to nail paid interviews.

Last month, a Minnesota judge issued a bench warrant for Kelly’s arrest. Kelly is currently facing two charges, which include engaging in prostitution with someone under 18 years old and hiring someone for sexual contact. Following the warrant, Greenberg issued a statement on behalf of his client. “They never came to get him, wtf was he supposed to do, telepathically transport himself?” Greenberg said at the time.

As Kelly’s legal woes continue to surface, the entertainer is looking to strengthen his team. Two months ago, Kelly met with Tom Mesereau, Michael Jackson’s attorney, for a four-hour meeting. Kelly believes that with Mesereau on his team, that he will have a favorable outcome. In the past, Kelly has stated that his team has the wrong intentions regarding his case.
