Is that the old Kanye?
On Sunday (Sept. 29), Kanye West held his weekly Sunday Service at the Greater Allen A.M.E Cathedral of New York. At one point during his service, West began spitting bars, which ultimately reminded fans of the 2004 ‘Ye. The crowd enjoyed the surprise as they chanted in awe of West’s bars.
The past few days have been quite eventful for the father-of-four. ‘Ye kicked off the weekend in Detroit and treated fans to a viewing of Jesus Is King: A Kanye West Experience. In addition to that, fans will be able to experience the project again as its set to debut in IMAX Theaters on Oct. 25. On Saturday (Sept. 28), West joined Chance The Rapper onstage in Chicago at The Big Day tour opener.
Although the album has yet to drop, fans were able to hear a preview of the project and see the album’s cover art. Originally, the album was set to drop on Friday (Sept. 27), however, Kim Kardashian West shared to social media that her husband was working on a few final touches.
“Kanye’s doing a listening session in Chicago tomorrow, then NYC Sunday. He’s dropping the album Sunday. Just a few final tweaks to the mixes,” she wrote.
When fans finally do get to hear the album, they will have merch to go along with it as well. West launched a 13-piece collection that was made available on his website. The collection includes a variety of items including short-sleeve and long-sleeve tees, crew neck sweatshirts and more. In terms of price, the merch ranges from $50 to $140. Regardless of how many items are bought, each purchase comes with a digital copy of Jesus Is King.
