Jeezy is diving into the sports industry.

According to Bleacher Report, the Atlanta rapper is launching a sports agency called Sports 99 that will support and market players from the NBA, NFL, and more. The news was first announced by Yahoo Sports reporter Chris Haynes. He tweeted last week, “Rapper @Jeezy is launching a sports agency called “Sports 99” and will begin representing NBA and NFL players, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.”

Jeezy wouldn’t be the first rapper to launch a sports-related venture. JAY-Z launched Roc Nation Sports in 2013. His agency represents a number of NFL stars including JuJu Smith-Schuster, Todd Gurley, Saquon Barkley, Leonard Fournette, and Melvin Ingram. JAY also has NBA players on his Roc Nation Sports roster such as Kyrie Irving, Skylar Diggins-Smith, Danny Green, Caris LeVert, Rudy Gay, Justise Winslow, and newly signed, Markelle Fultz.

Several other athletes are under the Roc Nation Sports umbrella. Boxer Andrew Ward, New York Yankees pitcher C.C. Sabathia, New York Mets second baseman Robinson Cano, and former NBA player Jalen Rose are on the agency’s roster as well.

Lil Wayne’s Young Money also launched a sports agency called APAA Sports. According to HotNewHipHop, The company was founded in 2016 and they acquired PlayersRep Sports Management in 2017. Their roster mostly consisted of NFL players, including New York Jets rookie defensive end Quinnen Williams, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd, Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Richie Incognito, Washington Redskins running back Derrius Guice and the McCourty twins.

According to Complex, prior to Jeezy releasing his “TM104” album in August, he was vocal about wanting to branch out into other arenas. He claimed that the album would be his last, but later backtracked. He did, however, say that “TM104” would be his last album on Def Jam. “Definitely the last on Def Jam,” he told The Breakfast Club when asked if “TM104” would be his final album.
